A Florida man has been arrested on suspicion of meeting a teenage girl over the Internet and luring her to Southern California with the promise of making her a show-business star. Instead, she worked as a prostitute in Las Vegas, Orange County and Los Angeles, authorities said.
Christopher Tyrone Young, 28, also known as Staydown, is charged with placing ads on Craigslist to find prostitution clients for the 17-year-old in Anaheim, Montclair, Los Angeles and Pomona, authorities said. The girl was arrested by Los Angeles police March 24 on a prostitution charge.
Police then alerted the FBI that the girl was a runaway from Florida, according to court documents.
Young also allegedly had sex with the girl and gave her the drug Ecstasy, according to court documents. The criminal complaint was filed in federal court in Santa Ana.
If convicted, Young faces up to 10 years in prison.
