at Boston 6, Baltimore 4: Kevin Youkilis fell a triple short of the cycle and drove in four runs to help the Red Sox win their third game in a row. Youkilis was four for five with a three-run home run and two doubles.
Chicago 8, at Tampa Bay 3: Paul Konerko hit a two-run home run and a run-scoring double for the White Sox, giving him seven runs batted in over his last five games.
Detroit 2, at Seattle 0: Edwin Jackson (1-0) baffled the Mariners again, giving up five hits while working into the eighth inning. Jackson beat Seattle twice last season.
Kansas City 2, at Texas 0: Zack Greinke (3-0) threw a seven-hitter for the first shutout of his career. Greinke has thrown 34 consecutive scoreless innings, including 20 over his three outings this year.
at Toronto 4, Oakland 2 (12 innings): Lyle Overbay hit a two-out, two-run walk-off home run against Dan Giese, who had been called up from triple A earlier in the day.
at Minnesota 9, Angels 2: The Angels’ bullpen faltered after four solid innings from starter Darren Oliver.
