USC law professor Elizabeth Garrett, an expert on legal issues related to campaign finance, lobbying and the initiative process, has been appointed to California’s political watchdog agency.
Secretary of State Debra Bowen appointed Garrett, co-director of the USC-Caltech Center for the Study of Law and Politics, to the Fair Political Practices Commission. Garrett joins two other recent appointees. In June, state Controller John Chiang named Chapman University law professor Ronald D. Rotunda to the panel, and state Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown added Lynn Montgomery, who was chief of staff to former Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante.
