Previews by August Brown Brian Wilson The erstwhile Beach Boy performs his canonically sun-dapped pop as part of the “West Coast, Left Coast” festival of California music. Dave Alvin, the Living Sisters and Harper Simon, a rising singer-songwriter whose last name should be similarly familiar to Boomer rock fans, open the show. Walt Disney Concert Hall, 111 S. Grand Ave., L.A. Today, 8 p.m. $28-$42. (323) 850-2000.
Cold Cave Joy Division comparisons abound with this new exquisitely dour post-punk quartet, but their synths are surprisingly fizzy, and beneath all the druggy doom on the band’s breakout album, “Love Comes Close,” is a pop sensibility that can’t help but shine through. The Echo, 1822 Sunset Blvd., Echo Park. Today, 10 p.m. $8. (213) 413-8200.
Stevie Wonder The R&B legend’s annual “House Full of Toys” benefit is always a welcome occasion to see the master at work, but this year expect the screaming to be a bit more hysterical -- tween-pop icons the Jonas Brothers are the opening act. Nokia Theatre, 777 Chick Hearn Court, L.A. Sat., 8 p.m. $45.25-$129.75. (213) 763-6000.
Million Dollar Revival Jackson Browne, Olivia Newton-John, Whispertown 2000 and Inara George (of the Bird & the Bee) are some of the eclectic artists from L.A.’s top shelf of pop on offer at this round-robin benefit of music and alt-comedy at the revitalized downtown theatre. Million Dollar Theatre, 307 S. Broadway, L.A. Next Sun., 6 p.m. $30-$100. (213) 473-0720.
