Seventeen Somali men were charged with piracy a day after the U.S. Navy handed them over to Kenyan authorities.
Prosecutors told a court in the port city of Mombasa that the men were arrested as they attacked the Egyptian-flagged merchant ship MV Amira with assault rifles, a pistol and a sword. The suspects, who were not represented by a lawyer, denied the charge.
