Return to TV: Jessica Simpson is headed back to reality TV for the VH1 series “The Price of Beauty,” in which she will travel the world “to meet women, study local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes.” It will air next year.

Costume design: Deborah Nadoolman Landis, a costume designer on such films as “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Coming to America,” has been selected as the founding director of the David C. Copley Center for the Study of Costume Design at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
