Predicting Lakers-Nuggets games a thankless job

Staff writer Mike Bresnahan ties up some loose ends on days of Lakers playoff games.
View from the other bench
From columnist Dave Krieger of the Denver Post:
“Let’s start with the obvious: The Nuggets need a new sideline inbounds play, or they need to learn to execute the ones they have. Preferably before Lakers forward Trevor Ariza gets a hat trick.”
Hee hee hee, Ariza going for three.

Q&A; of the day
Question: Are you going to get a tattoo while in Denver?
--Brian Silver
Answer: This tattoo thing has really gotten out of control here. During Game 3, I even saw a 6-year-old with fake tattoos up and down his arms (at least, I hope they were fake).
I think tattoos are ridiculous. Seriously. There’s got to be a better way to express yourself.
I just hope the girl I’m about to ask out on a date doesn’t mind seeing her freshly inked image on my right arm when I return to L.A. tomorrow.

They’re not obnoxious
Posted by “meheh” on a message board at denverpost.com:
“Dude, Colorado fans aren’t that bad; they are pretty classy. Go to Philly or Cleveland; overall I’d say Colorado fans are intense, but they aren’t ruthless.”
You stay classy, Denver.

Final thought
I’ve taken a lot of abuse lately for my game-by-game prognosticating.
From Marcelo in Manhattan Beach: “Based on your success rate in predictions, perhaps we can just go with heads, it’s the Lakers, tails, the opposition . . . let us know which way it lands.”
From Jeff S. Wood in Newhall: “When I saw you predicted a Lakers loss in Saturday’s edition, I knew they would win. So how do you feel about Monday’s game?”
Here’s how I feel about Game 4: I’m not making any predictions. That’s right; I’m turning my computer off until game time. The masses have spoken, and I hear them clearly.
Oh, and Denver by a couple tonight.
