Manny Ramirez, Reed Johnson hit home runs as Dodgers win, 7-3

AT THE PLATE: Manny Ramirez hit a first-inning home run off Ryan Dempster that also scored Matt Kemp, who had doubled. Blake DeWitt, vying for the Dodgers’ second-base job, singled home a run in the sixth inning and Reed Johnson added a three-run homer in the seventh.
ON THE MOUND:Starter Chad Billingsleygave up one run on five hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. Knuckleballer Charlie Haeger, among those trying for the fifth spot in the rotation, gave up one run in two innings and got the win.
EXTRA BASES: Ramirez started in left field, played four innings and made a leaping catch of a long fly hit by Tyler Colvin. The game drew 13,391, a record crowd for both the year-old Camelback Ranch complex and for the Cactus League, the Dodgers said.

Right-hander Hiroki Kuroda is scheduled to start in Friday’s 7 p.m. game against San Diego at the Padres’ spring-training home in Peoria, Ariz.
