Arizona: AquaPalooza? Music on the water at Lake Havasu City
- Share via
Lake Havasu is that skinny stretch of water that hugs the border between California and Arizona. The California side is pretty desert-like, but the Arizona side features lakeside resorts, the London Bridge and, for the first time, AquaPalooza. The daylong festival is free to anyone willing to spend a day bobbing in the lake.
The deal: AquaPalooza will have activities throughout the day, with concerts starting in the afternoon. It takes place at the Nautical resort in Thompson Bay, Lake Havasu City. Folks can come by boat or grab a raft or inner tube to join the party. Country singer Craig Morgan will be the featured singer at 6 p.m.
When: The event runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 17.
Details: AquaPalooza starts with a boat display that includes free demo rides and also hosts a beach barbecue, frog race, beach games for children and other activities. Warm-up bands include Littletown (3 p.m.) and 1st Rodeo (4:30 p.m.). And while you are visiting, take a walk across London Bridge, which this year celebrates its 40th year as a complete span in the U.S.
