New BlackBerry phone in works; no date for BBM for iOS, Android

As we learn time and again, Twitter can some times be a bad source for information, and the latest example comes in the form of erroneous BlackBerry news.
T-Mobile UK Thursday told its followers that the Android and iOS versions of BlackBerry Messenger, which were announced last month, would be available for download June 27. The news quickly made its way around the Internet, but not long after, T-Mobile UK deleted the tweet and sent out another one saying the information was inaccurate.

BlackBerry later confirmed that June 27 is an inaccurate date.

“We will communicate an update as soon as we have an availability date to share,” the Canadian smartphone company told The Times.
BlackBerry, however, did not address a report Thursday that says the company is working on its next flagship smartphone and is aiming for a November release.
CNET reports that BlackBerry will succeed its touchscreen Z10, which launched this year, with a device currently being called the BlackBerry A10.
Sprint, which held off on carrying the Z10, will reportedly be among the carriers that will support the rumored A10.
For now, though, BlackBerry is focusing on the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone that launched in the U.S. on T-Mobile Wednesday. The Q10 comes with BlackBerry’s traditional physical keyboard.
