Actor Russell Crowe said his final goodbyes to Divinyls lead singer and Australian musical icon Chrissy Amphlett Sunday night. Amphlett passed away in her New York City home on Sunday at age 53 after a protracted battle with breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
Though she was best known in America for her confessional Divinyls hit single “I Touch Myself,” she was also an actress. She made her film debut in 1982’s “Monkey Grip” and later went on to play Crowe’s mother in the Australian version of the stage musical “Blood Brothers.”
