SAG Awards 2013: ‘Modern Family’ wins ensemble in a comedy series

ABC’s “Modern Family” won the award for ensemble in a comedy series at the 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.
The cast for the top-rated comedy, including Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet, won the SAG Award for ensemble the last two years in a row.
The series is also an Emmy favorite; it won for comedy series at the Emmy Awards last September.

The series went into Sunday night with four total SAG Award nominations, including nods for male actor and female actor in a comedy series for Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara.
In the ensemble in a comedy series category, it beat out “30 Rock,” “The Big Bang Theory,” “Glee,” “Nurse Jackie” and “The Office.”
The 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards are being held at the Shrine Exposition Hall and broadcast simultaneously on TBS and TNT.
