FLIXSTER/ROTTEN TOMATOES: Links to reviews by critics and fans. Lets users share movie ratings and watch trailers.

FANDANGO: Accepts PayPal. Users can go straight to the ticket taker to have device scanned with Mobile Ticket (at participating theaters).

RUNPEE: Tells you the best time to leave for a bathroom break. Also gives a synopsis of the first five minutes of the movie in case you’re running late.

MOVIE NIGHT OUT: With Cinema Sync, suggests fun things to do before and after the show.

MOVIEGOER: Uses social-network sites to share moviegoing plans.

MOVIE PAL: Has audio recognition, so when you watch a trailer, it will later remind you when the movie comes out.

MOVIEFONE: Lists what movies are playing near you, even if the previews started a few minutes earlier.
