Ian McLagan, famed keyboardist and Rolling Stones collaborator, dies

Ian McLagan, a collaborator with the Rolling Stones and keyboardist for the English rock band Faces, has died. He was 69.
McLagan died Wednesday in Austin, Texas, after suffering a stroke a day earlier, according to a statement on his official website.
His death occurred a day after that of another notable Stones contributor, saxophonist Bobby Keys.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, McLagan played on the Rolling Stones’ 1978 album “Some Girls.”
“He was a beloved friend to so many people and a true rock-and-roll spirit,” Ken Kushnick, McLagan’s manager, said in a statement. “His persona and gift of song impacted the music across oceans and generations.”
McLagan was scheduled to begin a North American tour on Wednesday.
