William Shatner boldy goes where Leonard Nimoy has gone before — hosting a show about strange phenomena — with the debut of “Weird or What?” 9 and 10 p.m. Syfy

If you’re looking for “Grimm,” you’ve found it. The supernatural drama moves to its new night and time. 10 p.m. NBC

Suffer the children: Filmmaker Marian Marzynski and other Holocaust survivors revisit the sites of former Jewish ghettos in Poland on a new “Frontline.” 10 p.m. KOCE

Bob? Bob Newhart? It’s me …your agent. So listen, I got you a job.... No, just a guest spot … on “The Big Bang Theory.” It’s a sitcom, on your old network.... Yeah, nerds, that one. 8 p.m. CBS

Leslie (Amy Poehler) has been a city councilor for a year. Shouldn’t they have renamed the show “City Council” by now? Nope, it’s still “Parks and Recreation.” The sitcom ends its fifth season. 9:30 p.m. NBC

FRIDAY

To explore strange new worlds, astronomy and CGI animation will collide in the special “Alien Earths: Revealed.” 9 p.m. National Geographic

The last time they saw Paris: Modern dance pioneer Paul Taylor and his illustrious troupe trip the light fantastic in the City of Light on “Great Performances.” 9 p.m. KOCE

SATURDAY

We don’t follow hockey, literally — it moves way too fast for us. But even we’ve heard of the NHL legend at the center of the sports biography “Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story.” Michael Shanks stars. 9 p.m. Hallmark

Cultures clash and Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt meet cute in director Lasse Hallström’s 2011 drama/rom-com “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.” Kristin Scott Thomas also stars. 9 p.m. Showtime

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s future self comes back to haunt him in the form of Bruce Willis in the better-than-the-trailer-made-it-look 2012 science fiction fable “Looper.” Paul Dano, Piper Perabo and the aforementioned Emily Blunt also star. 9 p.m. Starz
