It looks like tomorrow won’t come for “The Tomorrow People” on the CW. The network has canceled the freshman drama along with “Star-Crossed” and “The Carrie Diaries.”
“The Tomorrow People,” a remake of the ‘60s sci-fi drama about a group of paranormal humans fighting for survival, struggled to impress on the ratings front despite the first half of its season benefiting from an “Arrow” lead-in. The series from executive producers Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”) and Greg Berlanti (“Arrow”), averaged a 0.6 in the 18-49 demo and 1.5 million total viewers.
The freshman series was moved to Mondays the second half of its run, paired with “Star-Crossed.” The lovestruck story about a group of aliens integrating with humans, whimpered in the ratings with a 0.3 rating in the young adults demo.
Meanwhile, sophomore teen soap “The Carrie Diaries” didn’t quite make the fashionable entrance CW might have liked. The series, which found traction in DVR and online viewing, was moved from Mondays to Fridays with its fall launch, and couldn’t find its footing no matter how well-heeled its star was.
