A boy was taken to a hospital after his foot got stuck in an escalator at a Macy’s store at Mission Valley Mall on Friday night, a fire official said.
It took about an hour to free the child, whose foot got stuck about 7 p.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue Capt. Joe Amador said.
“It was very difficult, very technical, and it took a little while to get him free,” he said of the rescue.
The boy, whose age was not known, was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
