East Hollywood water main break causes extensive street damage

Authorities are responding to a water main break in East Hollywood that has caused substantial street damage, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The break was reported around 9 a.m. in the 5400 block of Fountain Avenue, fire officials said.
No structures are threatened at the time, they said, but the damage to the street was described as extensive.
Crews were able to slow the flow while the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was in the process of shutting off the water, officials said.
