Police have cordoned off an area at Los Angeles City College after a report of a suspicious package, authorities said Wednesday night.
Officers with the bomb squad, joined by patrol cars, swooped down on the location near Melrose Avenue on the south end of the campus, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
A caller reported that a man in a dark hooded sweatshirt left a “gray-black lunch box next to a gray pickup by the street,” Officer Christopher No told The Times.
Officers were still searching the area and had not recovered any device or object.
