Readers React: Teachers left out of the LAUSD iPad loop

To the editor: Whether former Los Angeles Unified School District Supt. John Deasy’s iPad plan was criminal or just criminally stupid is irrelevant. He refused to listen to his most valuable asset: us teachers. (“FBI seizes LAUSD records related to troubled iPad program,” Dec. 2)
Deasy bought software that wasn’t yet fully developed for devices that the LAUSD couldn’t afford, and he didn’t consult the people who had to implement it. And we haven’t had a raise since 2007.
Maybe the FBI can investigate why we keep getting autocratic superintendents who hamstring teachers.
