Air Force Staff Sgt. Jaimie L. Newbold, niece of Robbin Roberts

and granddaughter of Betty Wells, both of Huntington Beach, has been

temporarily assigned to support Operation Southern Watch. The 1994

Huntington Beach High School graduate is an information management

journeyman with the 363rd Air Expeditionary Wing. Her duties include

flying missions to ensure and enforce Iraq’s compliance with the

United Nations Security Council resolutions.... Army Pvt. Glenn J.

Dell, son of Huntington Beach resident Howard Dell, has graduated

from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. The

program he graduated from was an intensive eight weeks of military

training.... Midshipman 4th class Tim Jarratt, son of Bob and Melinda

Jarratt of Huntington Beach, recently completed six weeks of plebe

summer orientation at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

Jarratt is a 2001 graduate of Edison High School. The orientation is

demanding and fast paced and begins four years of preparation for

commissioning as a Navy or Marine Corps officer.... Justin M. Boden

of Huntington Beach has recently been awarded the Presidential Award

from the University of Idaho. The scholarships reward academic

potential, activities and leadership, aptitude in particular fields

and provide access for qualified students in financial need....
