Proceeds from the sale will go toward the group’s upcoming mission trip to Molokai, Hawaii, during Spring Break. As they have for the past several years, the high school students will help build, paint and restore churches, schools and homes in low-income communities and share Bible study and fellowship each evening.

Group to discuss staying connected with kids

The public is invited to attend the free March 16 meeting of the Moms Group at Laguna Presbyterian Church, where Julie Hussman of the Center for Hope and Healing in Irvine will lead an interactive discussion about “Staying Connected With Our Children.”

Hussman will provide examples from various age groups of what happens when parents get disconnected from their kids and why this is such a critical issue. She will also give suggestions about what parents can do to re-establish the connection and will address the role that parents play in providing a secure foundation for their children.

Infants may accompany their parents to the meeting, and child care for older babies and preschoolers is available for a small donation. Child care scholarships are also available.

All meetings of the Moms’ Group take place on Fridays during the regular school year, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., in the church parlor at 415 Forest Ave.
