South Coast Tournament
NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor High won twice, beating Rancho Buena Vista, 21-3, before getting past Santa Barbara, 7-5, at the Tars’ pool.
Clinton Jorth had a combined 10 goals, four assists and four steals in the games for the Tars (4-1). David Linden added a pair of goals against Santa Barbara.
Harbor, ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, plays Riverside Poly today at 5 p.m. at Newport Harbor for the right to advance to the tournament semifinals.
Corona del Mar
CORONA DEL MAR — The Sea Kings beat Redlands, 12-6, before falling to Northwood, 10-3, at CdM.
The Sea Kings (4-1), ranked No. 4 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, continue their tournament today at 6 p.m. at CdM, against Dos Pueblos.
Costa Mesa 12, Troy 8
COSTA MESA — Skyler Twohig scored a game-high six goals in the Mustangs’ nonleague game Thursday.
Sam Edman and Gabe Sanchez scored two goals each for Mesa (5-3).
Irvine Tournament
IRVINE — Estancia lost its first game, 8-5 to Woodbridge in the nine-team tourney.
Jeff Crosson and Josh Young scored two goals each for the Eagles (2-2).
Costa Mesa def. Saddleback
SANTA ANA — Dana Gentling had 12 kills and eight digs to help the Mustangs to a 22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 nonleague win Thursday. Kim Bjelland also had 12 kills and added 16 assists for Mesa (2-5), while Whitney Crosby had 10 kills.

CORONA DEL MAR — Conley Kipp had nine kills in the Sea Kings’ 25-16, 25-17, 25-18 nonleague win Thursday. Madie Smith contributed 22 assists and Ashley Pries had 19 digs for CdM.
Northwood def. Sage Hill
IRVINE — Lightning setter Hana Hunt had 30 assists but Sage lost in three, 25-13, 25-18, 25-13, in a nonleague match Thursday.
