A man was arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving after crashing a van onto the beach at Pacific Coast Highway and Seapoint Street in Huntington Beach early Wednesday, authorities said.
The driver, who was in a 1995 gold Chevy van with three passengers, was traveling south at about 1 a.m. on Seapoint Street and went straight through Pacific Coast Highway, said Public Information Officer Jennifer Marlatt of the Huntington Beach Police Department.
The van hit a curb, rolled down the embankment past the beach service road, through a fence and onto the sand.
Christopher Burnett, 29, of Lake Forest, the van’s driver, sustained minor injuries and was booked on suspicion of felony DUI, Marlatt said.
The three passengers all had non-life-threatening injuries and were not arrested, Marlatt said.
