With two talented pitchers, Palisades could make noise in City Section baseball
- Share via
The last two prep baseball seasons, the semifinals in the City Section have featured the same four West Valley League teams: Birmingham, El Camino Real, Chatsworth and Cleveland.
All four have lots of important returnees, making 2019 a possible repeat of 2018 and 2017. But Palisades from the Western League is armed with something no other school in the City Section has: two Division I-bound pitchers.
Senior Wyatt Loncar is headed to Ohio State. Senior Will Coquillard is headed to Georgia Tech. There’s also a promising junior left-hander in Miles Kirschner.
Pitching is key to competing with the top teams in the West Valley during playoff competition, and coach Mike Voelkel will be preparing the Dolphins to be ready come May.
