Baseball: Five SoCal players go for gold on 18U team

Five high school players from Southern California figure to play prominent roles as the USA 18U national baseball team begins action on Friday in Mexico in the COPABE 18U Pan American Championship.
Outfielder Blake Rutherford (Chaminade) and catcher Lucas Herbert (San Clemente) will be key hitters and fielders.
Pitchers Kyle Molnar (Aliso Niguel), Peter Lambert (San Dimas) and Kolby Allard (San Clemente) will be critical to the team’s success on the mound.
First up is a game against Argentina on Friday in La Paz.
