Baseball: Kennedy finds skaters and raises money

It’s fundraising time for baseball teams. There’s selling of Christmas trees, poker nights, car washes, raffles and in the case of Granada Hills Kennedy, skate night at Skateland in Northridge.
“We had 108 skaters,’ said Kennedy Coach Andy Rodriguez, whose team made about $600.
Asked who emerged as the team’s best skater, Rodriguez singled out freshman outfielder Ataa Lillard.
“You could tell he was a skater,” Rodriguez said. “He could skate backwards.”
Kennedy should be one of the top teams in the City Section and returns both of its starting pitchers.
