Boys’ basketball: Compton retires jersey number of DeMar DeRozan

Former Compton standout DeMar DeRozan dropped by his alma mater on Thursday to participate in a halftime ceremony that saw his jersey number retired.
DeRozan, who plays for the Toronto Raptors, told Gazzettessports.com, “This school and this city made me who I am.”
Compton defeated Long Beach Cabrillo, 78-58.
