Boys’ basketball: Damien comes back from big deficit to defeat Rancho Cucamonga

Down by 13 points after three quarters, Damien made a successful comeback on Tuesday night, rallying for a 76-72 win over Rancho Cucamonga in a Baseline League game.
Jeremy Hemsley scored 28 points and Malik Fitts added 15 points. Damien improved to 18-2 overall and 5-0 in league.
Etiwanda defeated Upland, 81-40. Garrett Carter scored 13 points. Chino Hills defeated Los Osos, 75-61.
In the Foothill League, Valencia defeated Hart, 54-52. Dakota Abbott had 18 points and Malik McCowan 17. Myles Franklin led Hart with 19 points. West Ranch defeated Golden Valley, 89-70. Saugus defeated Canyon, 47-38.
In the Marmonte League, Oaks Christian handed Westlake its first league defeat, 62-55. Tyler Harris had 17 points. Thousand Oaks defeated Newbury Park, 85-49. Matt Hauser had 26 points. Calabasas defeated Agoura, 39-32. Justin Bessard contributed 16 points.
In the Big VIII League, Sedrick Barefield scored 19 points in Corona Centennial’s 83-37 win over Norco.
In the Olympic League, Tyler Dorsey scored 40 points in Maranatha’s 78-37 win over Heritage Christian.
In the Bay League, Redondo defeated Mira Costa, 68-41. Redondo is 17-4 and 5-0.
Eric Patton scored 25 points in Foothill’s 63-43 win over Brea. Foothill is 18-3.
