Boys’ basketball: Remy Martin leaves Chaminade to return to Sierra Canyon
- Share via
Sophomore guard Remy Martin, who was ineligible to play at state Division III champion Chaminade last season because of disciplinary reasons after transferring from Sierra Canyon, is returning to Sierra Canyon.
He will be eligible immediately at Sierra Canyon because he didn’t play last season.
He’s considered one of the top guards in the San Fernando Valley and will rejoin a team that figures to be No. 1 in Southern California.
Head of School James Skrumbis refused to discuss Martin’s return.
Asked to comment on students who once attended the school but left and wanted to return, Skrumbis said, “Sometimes kids deserve a second chance.”
Martin’s departure is the third top guard to abandon a Mission League school during the summer. Crespi’s Max Heidegger and St. Francis’ Kyle Leufroy have left their schools to play for prep school teams.
