Boys’ basketball: Stanley Johnson, Thomas Welsh are finalists for USA 18U team

Arizona-bound Stanley Johnson from Santa Ana Mater Dei and UCLA-bound Thomas Welsh from Loyola are among the 15 finalists selected for the USA 18U national team after four training sessions in Colorado Springs.
The head coach is Billy Donovan of Florida.
The finalists will continue training in Colorado Springs until June 19, when a final 12-man roster will be decided.
USA Basketball is hosting the FIBA Americas U18 championship from June 20-24.
