Football: Arleta is about to get a lot better with the return of Isaiah Gable
- Share via
Arleta is 6-1 this season and running away in the East Valley League with a 3-0 record, and that acomplishment becomes even more impressive considering the Mustangs haven’t had junior Isaiah Gable, last season’s league MVP.
Gable injured his wrist during the summer and hasn’t played yet. But he has begun to practice and if the doctor clears him, he might be able to play on Friday against Grant.
Regardless, he’ll be an important addition at running back when Arleta plays in the City Section Division I playoffs.
Arleta is already having a big season from quarterback Jonathan Porter, who has passed for 1,178 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also has rushed for 487 yards and five touchdowns.
And give credit to J’son Overstreet, who has filled in for Gable with 446 yards rushing.
