Football: Availability of QB Carson Glazier for San Marino remains uncertain
- Share via
San Marino quarterback Carson Glazier wants to play Saturday in Sacramento in the CIF state championship Open Division small school bowl game against Modesto Central Catholic.
Coach Mike Hobbie wants him to play. His teammates want him to play. But it’s up to medical officials, because Glazier suffered a possible concussion last Saturday against Sierra Canyon and must pass concussion protocals and tests.
Hobbie said Wednesday he might not know until game time whether Glazier will receive approval.
San Marino is 15-0 and used its second string and third-string quarterbacks to rally for a 36-35 win over Sierra Canyon.
Central Catholic is 15-0 and has one of the best running backs in the state in 6-foot-2 Justin Rice, who rushed for 325 yards and five touchdowns last week. He’s averaging 10.7 yards a carry.
