Football: Gardena Serra is ready to launch its season [Video]

Gardena Serra, loaded with talent and the defending CIF state Division II bowl champions, opens its season with two road games in San Diego. The first is Saturday against Mesa (Ariz.) Desert Ridge at Cathedral Catholic. Then next Friday at Oceanside.
Coach Scott Altenberg will try out Adoree’ Jackson at running back, a new position for Jackson, a standout receiver last season. But Jackson will play a variety of positions during the game and all season.
Serra produced a video (above) to fire up its fans. Altenberg surprisingly shaved for the video.
“That was my wife,” he said. “She hates me not shaving.”
