Soccer: It’s a City Section scoring record for Ezequiel Quijada of Canoga Park
- Share via
Ezequiel Quijada of Canoga Park knows how to score goals in soccer. He’s been doing it since he was a young boy growing up in El Salvador.
“That’s my thing _ score, score, score,” he said.
Quijada became the most successful goal scorer in City Section history on Tuesday, scoring twice in a 7-0 victory over Chatsworth to give him 122 goals in his four years of high school soccer.
“It feels good,” he said. “Everyone keeps congratulating me, but it’s team work.”
Canoga Park will face Birmingham on Wednesday in a semifinal game of the Valley Classic at 11 a.m. at Crespi.
Quijada has 21 goals in eight games this season.
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame will play Royal in the other semifinal. Notre Dame’s Jesse Fitzgerald scored three more goals in a 4-1 victory over East Valley, giving him 10 in the tournament and 20 on the season.
