Football: Crenshaw holds on for 30-25 victory

Crenshaw has beaten Venice 30-25 and will play Narbonne for the City Division I championship next Friday at East L.A. College.
Jacob Knight’s 45-yard run gave the Cougars a 30-12 lead with less than four minutes to go, but Alexander Diamont threw two late touchdown passes to pull the Gondos to within five points with 37 seconds left.
The ensuing onside kick went out of bounds and Crenshaw ran out the clock.
Ajene Harris ran for a touchdown, threw a touchdown pass and intercepted two passes at cornerback for the Cougars (9-4), who led 24-0 at halftime. He completed 7 of 12 throws for 146 yards.
Knight had 80 yards and two touchdowns in 18 carries and Michael Simmons had four receptions for 96 yards and intercepted a pass on defense.
Joseph Dews ran for a touchdown and Alijah Lee, Dewan Thompson and Kaelin Jones caught scoring passes for the Gondos (10-3). Diamont threw for 243 yards, Thompson had seven catches for 73 yards and Jones had five receptions for 93 yards.
