Update: The Kings held an optional practice Friday, but that didn’t keep their wounded captain from taking the ice beforehand. Not only did Dustin Brown get cut in the face near his ear in Thursday’s 1-0 shootout win against the St. Louis Blues, but he also had to see a chiropractor later for a routine visit Friday. Kings Coach Darryl Sutter said that Colin Fraser also got cut in the face by an opponent’s skate in the third period. Brown said he skated before the optional session with Bernie Nicholls, who has been with the Kings in an unofficial advisory capacity during most of the Sutter era. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick’s biggest save in the Blues game was on Jamie Langenbrunner in the third period. “Sometimes you second-guess yourself about the things that don’t go in, and feel like you could have done something different,” Langenbrunner said after the game. “But take your hat off to Quickie there. He made a hell of a save....It was a playoff game.” The Kings will be trying to extend their season-high winning streak to seven games. Boston is coming off a 2-1 loss at San Jose on Thursday night, and this will be the 1,000th NHL game for Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara.
