Reggie Bush is returning to the West Coast.
The former USC tailback signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, the team announced.
Four former Trojans are on the 49ers’ active and reserve-future rosters, including center Marcus Martin, cornerback Shareece Wright and tight end Xavier Grimble.
Bush was released in February by the Detroit Lions, with whom he spent two seasons. He had two years remaining on his contract.
He was slowed in 2014 because of an ankle injury. In 11 games, he rushed for 297 yards and two touchdowns in 76 carries. He also caught 40 passes for 253 yards.
The New Orleans Saints selected Bush second overall in the 2006 draft. He played five seasons for the Saints -- helping them win a Super Bowl during the 2009 season -- two for the Miami Dolphins and two for the Lions.
