Nebraskas (Downtown) Omaha Lit Fest

This year’s theme is “Depraved Women Writers (& Others).” Among authors in the spotlight are Washington, D.C.’s Maud Casey (“Genealogy”); L.A.’s Andrea Portes (“Hick”); and Omaha’s Jonis Agee (“The River Wife”). Panel discussions touch on a range of topics, including portraits of writers in cinema, with screenings of “Naked Lunch,” “The Shining,” “The Third Man” and other films. Also: photo exhibits, dance performances and more.
When, where: Sept. 14 and 15 at the Omaha Public Library, 14th and Farnam streets, and various other venues in Omaha. Screenings at Film Streams, 1340 Webster St.
Admission: Most events free. General admission for movies is $8.
