Mountain High ski resort goes all out for final week

It’s last call at Mountain High, Southern California’s only clothing-optional resort (see photo). Well, what did you expect from spring skiing? Note that this is the resort’s last week, and this popular destination for local boarders is tossing out some interesting incentives. (OK, quit looking at the photo.)

The Wrightwood resort is offering adult tickets for $40 and children’s tickets (ages 7-12) for just $25. Here’s another deal that’s tough to top: Mountain High is accepting season passes from Bear Mountain, Snow Summit and even Mammoth Mountain this week. Operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the Blue Ridge Express and Coyote Chairlifts open until Easter Sunday, the final day of operation.

This is the season’s last hurrah at Southern California ski resorts. Bear Mountain has already closed, but its sister resort, Snow Summit, will remain open through Saturday. Season passes, including “Bear Only” passes, are valid at Snow Summit.

Meanwhile, Mammoth Mountain plans to stay open until July 4 for the second year in a row. It’s the fourth time in seven years that the resort has managed to stay open until early July. Don’t miss out on its Three Pack offer: three lift tickets for $129.

Further north, many Lake Tahoe resorts start hitting the off switch about now, but thanks to about 700 inches of snow this season, many have extended their seasons, and a couple will be running into May. Some notable closing dates, subject to the whims of Mother Nature:
